How Much Balance Do You Get on Rs 100 Jazz Load?

On a Rs 100 mobile load, the government takes Rs 15 as tax. This leaves you with Rs 85 in usable balance. This tax is the same for Jazz, Zong, Ufone, and Telenor, since it is set by the government, not by the telecom company.

Why Your Balance Is Less Than Your Load Amount

When you load Rs 100 on your phone, you may notice your balance shows less than Rs 100. This is normal. The government charges a tax on every mobile recharge in Pakistan. This tax is called advance tax, and it is taken under Section 236 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

The current tax rate is 15%. This means for every Rs 100 you load, Rs 15 goes to the government as tax, and Rs 85 becomes your usable balance.

Easy Load Calculator Main Amounts

Here is how much balance you get on some common load amounts:

You LoadTax (15%)Balance You Get
Rs 50Rs 7.50Rs 42.50
Rs 100Rs 15Rs 85
Rs 200Rs 30Rs 170
Rs 500Rs 75Rs 425
Rs 1,000Rs 150Rs 850

Worked Example

Say you load Rs 500 on your Jazz SIM. The government takes 15% as advance tax. That is Rs 75. So your final balance is Rs 500 minus Rs 75, which equals Rs 425. This is the exact balance you will see on your phone, before you make any calls or send any SMS.

Is There More Tax When You Use Your Balance?

Yes. The 15% tax is only taken when you load money. When you actually use your balance for calls, SMS, or mobile data, another tax called GST (General Sales Tax) is added on top of the service cost. This means your balance can go down faster than you expect when you use it, not just when you load it.

Does the Tax Rate Change by Network?

No. The 15% load tax is the same for every telecom company in Pakistan. Jazz, Zong, Ufone, and Telenor all follow the same government rule. No network can charge you more or less than this rate on your load.

Is This Tax the Same for Everyone?

Yes, for prepaid load, the rate is the same for all users. This tax is called an advance tax, which means it is not a final loss. If you file an income tax return and have an NTN, you can adjust this tax against your yearly tax bill.

Before You Recharge

  • Check for the latest tax rate if the government issues a new notification, since rates can change over time.
  • Remember this calculator gives an estimate based on the current known rate.
  • Keep your recharge receipts if you want to check your deductions later.
  • If you are an active taxpayer with an NTN, remember this advance tax may be adjustable when you file your annual return.
  • Load a little extra balance if you plan to activate a package right after recharging, so the package cost does not leave you short.

FAQs

How much balance do I get on Rs 100 Jazz load?

You get Rs 85. The government takes Rs 15 as tax on every Rs 100 you load.

Does this tax apply to postpaid bills too, or only prepaid load?

This tax applies to prepaid loads. Postpaid users pay a similar advance tax, but it is deducted from the monthly bill amount instead of a recharge.

Is the tax different if I recharge through JazzCash or Easypaisa instead of a shop?

No. The 15% tax is the same no matter how you recharge, whether from a shop, a scratch card, or a mobile wallet app like JazzCash or Easypaisa.

Does the tax change if I use a scratch card instead of an easy load?

No. The same 15% tax applies whether you use a scratch card, easy load from a shop, or a mobile app like JazzCash or Easypaisa.

Can I get this tax back?

Yes, but only if you file an income tax return. This tax is adjustable, which means NTN holders can claim it against their total tax bill when filing.

Is there extra tax when I make calls or send SMS?

Yes. General Sales Tax (GST) is charged separately when you actually use your balance for calls, SMS, or data. This is different from the 15% tax charged at load time.

This page shows the current advance tax rate on mobile load under Section 236 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. Tax rates can change through new FBR notifications. Confirm the latest rate on fbr.gov.pk if you need exact figures for filing.
